Phnom Penh Boutique Hotels & Guesthouses
Phnom Penh has an amazing array of some very good small hotels and guesthouses. Many of these are so small that they're not listed in most of the major on-line booking sites. Here are a couple of selections that I've been able to personally check out.
- Anise Hotel
- Small "boutique" hotel in the Boeung Keng Khan area. Large rooms, for the price, and a rather nice restaurant.
- Blue Lime Hotel
- Located just behind the National Museum, this small hotel sports a rather distinctive design along with more features than you'll find at the riverside hotels.
- Scan Hotel
- The Scandinavia Hotel, or just Scan Hotel, is a bit of a surprise. The "curb appeal" is near zero, and with the reception desk located in a small corrugated iron hut, things didn't look promising when I checked in. But my deluxe room was large, clean and apparently recently redecorated. The was comfortable and the wi-fi was free. Breakfast was also included. The hotel receptionists were quite good at arranging taxis, cars and whatever was needed.
