One point worth mentioning here is that, while you will almost always receive polite and helpful service from the hotel staff, we've noticed in all the properties we've stayed at in Vietnam that the overall level of service provided is generally less than you might find in other Asian countries. This is not to say the service is bad. You just won't be swamped with eager staff from the moment of your arrival.
